Clickworker UHRS: Earn Up to $40 an Hour Improving Search Results

My first real work from home job was as a “Clickworker” on the UHRS project between 2014 and 2019.

The job was fairly easy, but it could be very repetitive, at the same time. And the pay wasn’t bad. For example, I used to average $10 — $30 an hour from UHRS jobs. However, some users report earning as much as $40 an hour from these tasks.

I ended up leaving in late 2019 to pursue freelance writing full-time. But I would definitely recommend Clickworker to anyone looking for a part-time work from home job or way to make money online.

What is Clickworker UHRS?

UHRS is an acronym for Universal Human Relevance System. The platform is accessed through your Clickworker account. So, you have to apply for, get approved, and set up a separate UHRS account in order to access their micro jobs.

Unlike the other short tasks on Clickworker and other crowdsourcing sites like Amazon Mechanical Turk, the UHRS project offers a lot of better-paying tasks. As mentioned, I used to earn as much as $30 an hour from these micro jobs.

While all of the work is completed through the UHRS online platform, your earnings are paid weekly via Clickworker.

What are UHRS jobs?

I kind of gave it away in the title.

The purpose of UHRS is to allow internet users (like you and me) to review, rate, and improve online search results. It’s kind of hard to explain in an article, but the platform typically has a wide variety of tasks that are related to the relevancy of search results. Therefore, your job is to help train search engine algorithms to improve the results they deliver users, based on the likely intent of the search query.

For a more detailed description of the role, you can Google “web search evaluator” or “search engine evaluator.”

Depending on the tasks (and its estimated length of time), each micro job might pay anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars. However, most of these tasks can be completed in a very short amount of time. Therefore, after you get some experience doing them, you can earn a decent hourly rate. (I’ve read about some users earning as much as $40 an hour from Clickworker UHRS jobs.)

How do you qualify for UHRS?

If you don’t already have a Clickworker account, create one. Then, head over to the assessments page to begin taking the UHRS assessments. You will want to take these tests seriously as they are your ticket to the highest-paying jobs available on Clickworker.

The assessments contain two sections, and you will need to score at least an 80% to pass.

Once you complete (and pass) the assessments, you will be directed to a page where you can create your UHRS login. Once you have your account set up, you will be able to access the UHRS platform with all of the available tasks.

Now, you aren’t done taking tests. Before you can begin working on a given project, you will have to prove that you understand the job by passing a practice test. Typically, you will have 3 chances to pass. Make sure you carefully read the task’s guidelines and understand what is expected of you before attempting the test.

Once you are granted access to a UHRS project, you will need to perform high-quality work in order to keep your access (and ability to earn money online from it). That’s because a certain number of the jobs you complete will be audited for quality assurance. If your quality score falls below a certain level, you will be prompted to take a break from the task for the remainder of the day. And if you continue to do low-quality work, you will get banned from the job.

How much can you make from UHRS?

It depends — depends on the time and effort you invest in the platform.

Back when Clickworker was my primary source of income, I treated it like a full-time job. I would log in during the morning, afternoon, and evening every day of the workweek. I figured out which tasks paid the best and learned how to maximize my earnings while completing high-quality work.

Like I mentioned above, back when I was active on Clickworker (2014–2019), I would average anywhere between $10 to $30 an hour, depending on the task. However, I have read more recent reviews from users who claim to make as much as $40 an hour.

The key is to learn a job well, and then learn how to do it as quickly as possible. Some projects will pay more than others. Some days will offer more work than others. That’s why, I consider Clickworker UHRS to be a good part-time work from home job or way to make money online when you aren’t working on another freelancing project or side hustle.
