Since I have a full-time job, I need to choose a side hustle that doesn’t take more than 1–2 hours a day. If I had a $1,000 monthly budget to put towards a side hustle I will start a blog website. Let’s discuss why and how.

Why Blogging?
Apart from blogging, there are many other side hustles. But most side hustles are either time-consuming or not very scalable. But blog websites are scalable as well as have multiple sources of revenue stream.

I can easily monetize a blog website through ads, affiliate links, sponsored content and maybe selling my own digital products. This has the potential to bring me a full-time income in the near future.

The most exciting thing is that only 1 hour a day is enough to operate a blog website. And time is a very sensitive ingredient for a side hustle. Because I need to take care of my day job.

Initial Investments for Blog Website
Basically to start a blog I just need a domain, hosting, and a website. I can easily get all of these for $400–500. Sure for this budget, I don’t get the fancy website. But honestly, I don’t think It’s necessary to start.

Look most successful blogs or any other business websites are pretty simple. I don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on a fancy website. All I need is a simple & clean design website for my articles. And an email Newsletter subscription popup. So that I’m able to build my email list. And $400–500 is enough for that.

Monthly Budget Plan Under $1000
After creating the website, it is time to publish the content. I will only spend 30 minutes to 1 hour a day doing topic research for articles. I plan to outsource all the rest of the work.

$50 monthly for the website hosting plan and other minor accessories.
$200 monthly for hiring a freelance service that will schedule checkups on my website. And maintain the website & SEO.
$750 monthly budget for articles. $50 budget for each article. 15 articles in a month. I will be able to find a freelance service that will write 1000–2000 word articles for $50.
Here is my $1000 monthly plan. All I have to do is research the topics of the articles and publish them after I get my writing copy from a freelance service.

And one more important thing, before I hire any freelance service I need to make sure about their quality. To check their quality, first I will order a little or demo service for a small amount of money. Once I am satisfied then I will hire them permanently.

After running a couple of months and publishing 30–40 articles I’m expecting to start making money from my website. And after running for over a year and publishing more than 150 articles I’m expecting to earn more than $1000 — $2000 a month. And gradually my income will continue to increase.
